What Is The Best Way To Cook Cauliflower Rice? – 5 Quick & Easy Steps
Here are the 5 quick & easy steps to making the perfect cauliflower rice that is not watery:
Step 1 – Cut all of the stems off the florets and wash the florets with water.
The Trick – The hard stems contain a lot of water which is why you must remove them (or most of them) to create the perfect cauliflower rice that isn’t watery.
Step 2 – Place the washed florets into a medium to a large-sized pot of water and boil them on medium to high heat until all of them are very soft but not too mushy.
If your fork can puncture the cauliflower florets easily, then that should be a good indication that you are ready to drain all of the hot water out of the pot.
Step 3 – Pour the well-cooked cauliflower florets into a coriander/strainer over the sink and let it sit for at least 2 minutes to ensure most of the water is fully drained out of the florets.
You can also shake the coriander a bit over the sink to get more water out of it.
Return all of the cooked cauliflower florets from the strainer to the empty pot you boiled them in.
Step 5 – Using a mashed potato masher just like this one, smash all the cauliflower florets until they are finely ground and look just like white rice.
Optional – Add salt and pepper for taste or leave it as is to use in many different kinds of recipes throughout the week.
