How To Get Rid Of Bloating In The Stomach? First of all, prevention is key to recurring stomach bloating. I’ll explain ways to prevent reoccurring stomach bloating and then ways you can get rid of it for good. Bloating could be due to constipation, too much gluten, or even just toxic waste built up in your stomach.

We don’t always know the exact cause of bloating, but they are ways in which we can significantly help reduce or even eliminate it.

How To Get Rid Of Bloating In The Stomach

These are all my own personal ways in which I’ve done to help cure and even prevent my bloating issues for good. Being a woman over 40, not only did I have to start eating better and drink more water, but I also had to try a few more effective ways to get rid of my bloating.

So, here they all are. 

 

1. Eat Better

Eat Better I’m not saying you should have to give up all the foods you love to eat. Just east less of the already KNOWN things to cause bloating issues such as dairy, gluten, and high-processed junk foods.

If you’re eating foods such as nachos and cheese, chocolate bars, processed meats, etc., you’re most likely going to experience some bloating until your stomach completely digests it. 

Eat more fruits and veggies. Beans are very healthy but eat them in moderation as they can cause stomach bloating if you’re not used to eating them.

Keep your meals small. Overeating at one sitting can cause your stomach to really bloat. Try eating your meals on smaller plates so you can control the amount of food you’re eating.  

Try switching regular noodles for gluten-free noodles, rice noodles, or even chickpea pasta noodles instead. Limit the amount of bread you consume to 1 slice instead of 2 slices. Eat a burger on romaine lettuce leaves instead of a regular bun.

There are many creative ways to eat better. We just have to implement them and do what’s best for our stomachs.

Think about how you will feel after if you decide to eat that fast food next time. If you know that you are going to feel bloated and uncomfortable after eating it then try eating something healthier instead. 

 

2. Drink More Water

Water is the #1 way to help eliminate toxic waste from our bodies. Doctors recommend drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I do my best to make sure I drink more water daily using these 7 top tips!

Drink one full glass of water when you first wake up, then another glass every time you eat or snack. Try Perrier or flavored water to help you drink more water. If you’re normally not a very thirsty person, eat a healthy salty snack such as almonds, sunflower seeds, or popcorn to help. 

You can keep track of the amount of water you’re drinking using the FREE MyFitnessPal App. It will also calculate the total amount of calories and nutrition values of the foods you eat. It’s my favorite new way to keep track of what my daily intake of water and food is overall so I know what nutrients I need more of. 

 

3. Try Fasting

Fasting is a great way to completely digest all of the food in your stomach, therefore, relieving stomach bloating. It’s not for everyone but definitely an option to consider if you’re experiencing bloating often. 

If you’re completely new to fasting, you don’t have to do the 16:8 ratio. You can start by fasting at the very least 10 hours per day, then 11 and then 12 and so on. This is the method that worked best for me when I first started fasting. I make sure to fast 14 to 16 hours a day now. 

I basically skip breakfast and eat my first meal of the day around lunchtime. My stomach is fully digested by then, and I feel absolutely wonderful! It is a game-changer for me. As I mentioned, I started fasting for 12 hrs and then eventually worked my way up to 14, and some days I can go without food for 16 hours. 

Fasting takes time to learn, but if you start fasting for at least 10 hours a day, gradually increase. With practice, you will get there, especially when you start to feel a whole lot better. You will want to continue. 

NOTE – I don’t recommend this to anyone who has diabetes or who is on medications. This is only for people who are already healthy overall and want to help eliminate bloating symptoms. Please consult your doctor to see if fasting is right for you.

 

4. Take A “Good” Probiotic

Probiotics help restore gut flora. So basically, they can really help relieve symptoms of gas, bloating, constipation, and IBS. 

Not all probiotics are created equal, so it’s best to find one that’s right for you. Some probiotics can even cause weight gain. It’s best to learn which ones don’t do this before you just run out and grab the first one on the shelf. 

There are two probiotics I highly recommend that worked well for me, Align and Synbiotic 365. Align works great. However, I found Synbioitic 365 by United Naturals worked a lot better for me.

Now I take Synbiotic 365 by United Naturals. I prefer this one because Synbioitc 365 offers an ingredient that helps women reduce stomach fat.

I’ve been taking this for over 2 years and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a really good probiotic that will not cause weight gain. It may even help prevent or even reduce weight gain, and as a woman over 40, this is very important to me. 

 

5. Detox

Detoxing can really help relieve symptoms of bloating by helping eliminated waste built up in the stomach. Detox diets are generally considered safe for most people.

Detoxing involves consuming minimal amounts of foods such as only water and juice. Detox diets are usually high in fiber which in turn help relieve fat-stored toxins in the body.

Conclusion – My Results

I know other ways to relieve stomach bloating, such as eating mint, taking a bath, using essential oils, exercising, doing yoga, etc., can be effective as well, and I definitely recommend them.

However, the 5 ways to relieve my stomach bloating I’ve described above are what worked best for me. 

I don’t always have the time to take a bath, go for a walk, do yoga, etc.

So changing my daily healthy habits by eating better, drinking more water, fasting, taking a good daily probiotic, and at times detoxing are all the best ways I use to get rid my stomach bloating for good.
